Saturday 07 November 2026, 09:00am - 02:00pm

Leader: Chris Evans

Meet Location: City of Barrie Dock Road Municipal Parking Lot, 204 Dock Road (Southeast corner of Dock Road and Plunkett Court)

Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
End Time: Approximately 2:00 p.m. (weather and birding conditions permitting)

Registration: Not required

Accessibility: Mostly flat trails, boardwalk, with some gentle hills at some locations.

Details: We'll explore several lakeshore locations around Kempenfelt Bay looking for lingering waterfowl, gulls, and late migrants. Stops include Dock Road Jetty, Tyndale Park, Minet's Point, General John Hayter Southshore Community Centre, Centennial Park, and Barrie Marina. Carpooling is encouraged as we will be driving between locations. Binoculars are recommended, and a spotting scope or camera with a long lens can be useful for viewing distant birds and their finer details. OFO members are invited to attend. Please note that parking fees or permits are required at some waterfront locations. Barrie resident waterfront parking permits are valid at designated locations; non-residents should be prepared to pay for parking where required. Public washroom facilities are available only at the General John Hayter Southshore Community Centre.
