CHANGE NOTE: The City of Barrie Municipal Parking lot on Simcoe Street between Maple and Bayfield will not be available, please use the new location outlined below.
We will explore the lake front and parks for Gulls, waterfowl and other lingering birds. (please note that this event is sponsored by the Ontario Field Ornithologists). Some driving (car pool) and easy walking.
The trip new start location is Dock Road Park, 204 Dock Road, Barrie, Ontario. This is a new park with 28 free parking spaces + 2 handicap parking spaces and additional free parking along Plunkett Crt.
The most convenient driving directions to this location are:
- Highway 400 Exit 94 at Essa Road
- northeast (right from 400 northbound, left from 400 southbound) onto Essa Road to Fairview Road
- right (south) onto Fairview Road to Little Avenue
- left (east) onto Little Avenue to Hurst Drive right (south) onto Hurst Drive to Cox Mill Road
- left (northeast) onto Cox Mill Road to Dock Road
- right (east) onto Dock Road to 204 Dock Road (southeast corner of Dock Road and Plunkett Crt.) (If you end up on the dock, you've gone too far!)
