Please bring your own bag lunch and mug. Guest speaker Karen Alexander, Ecosystem Restoration Biologist, will talk about freshwater beaches and dune ecosystems. Host presentation - Protecting Wasaga's Natural and Cultural Resources. Marilyn Beecroft, Friends of Nancy Island & Wasaga Beach Park. Emma Horrigan, Ontario Nature Citizen Science Coordinator will update us on the new citizen science directory, salamander and vernal pool surveys and the Reptiles and Amphibians Atlas live updating maps. Afternoon hike exploring the shoreline and hear about the beach ecology and Piping Plover monitoring programs.

TRIPS

A number of BFNC members have volunteered their time and expertise to bring you a great outdoor trip program. As usual we have some old favourites and some really exciting new ones. Although birds are a focus there will be something for every interest. Please join them in exploring the natural history of Simcoe county. MEETINGS

All regular meetings are held at Northwest Barrie United Church, 464 Ferndale Drive North, Barrie and start at 7:00pm.. Meetings are held in the Westennial Hall at the back of the church. Park in the big lot off Horsfield Drive..
