Please join our caravan for our annual “Horned Larks and Tiffin Pancakes” field trip - Saturday 12 March 2016, 08:30am

Leader Brian Gibbon, 705-721-4599, will guide us around the Minesing Flats searching for Horned Larks (our first songbird to return from migration), Snowy Owls, Snow Buntings and other delights. End this great morning with Pancakes & Sausage for lunch at Tiffin Centre for Conservation. Driving and standing.  Please dress appropriately for standing in this cold and open area where it is often windy.  Bring snacks and drinks, FRS radios, binoculars, telephoto cameras and spotting scopes, if you have or can borrow them.
Usually ends by 2-2:30pm.

Be prepared to have fun sharing and learning about nature as these birds visit on their way north to their breeding grounds.

Location: Convoy Departs from Little Lake Park Parking Lot, (196 Little Lake Dr Barrie, ON L4M, Canada 44.417268, -79.663838) at 8:30am sharp, so please arrive there by 8:15am to arrange carpooling and orientation on trip safety and protocol. (Please review OFO birding Code of Ethics at http://www.ofo.ca/site/page/view/aboutus.ethics)

Alternate meeting place: in Minesing westbound along Ronald Road west of Giffen Farm Equipment at 8:50 AM.

Contact Leader: Brian Gibbon 705-721-4599

There is a small charge of $10 for adults and $5 for children to cover our costs for the brunch and fundraise to sponsor local youth to attend the Ontario Nature Youth Summit. Please bring your own dishes & cutlery. The Tiffin pavilion may (will?) be cold, so bringing an insulated cushion for your comfort on the picnic table bench is highly recommended.

Volunteers are needed to meet at 10:00 AM to set up for the pancakes and sausages at:

Tiffin Centre for Conservation

8195 8th Line of Essa, Utopia (South of Simcoe County Road 90)
