Sunnidale Park is a real jewel in the westish end of Barrie. It is a 48 hectare park with various habitats including a beautifully eclectic arboretum. In early June spring will be gaining a foothold and the bird song glorious. Among other birds, we’ll be looking for that master of disguises, the Indigo Bunting. Looking black and drab until the sun hits him at just the right angle, he is suddenly transformed into an incredible blue that indigo only begins to describe. His exuberant song is a delightful burble of cascading notes.
