Depart LLPL at 8:00 a.m. David Cowl
Grant’s Woods is a 21 hectare parcel of old growth upland forest that has not been logged for over a century. Many large specimens of hard maple, white ash, red oak, white pine, American beech and Eastern hemlock may be found here. We are bound to see fall warblers, sparrows, finches, woodpeckers, hawks, and more. A network of 4K of looped walking trails (easy) has been developed with connecting footbridges and interpretative stations. There is a gazebo with picnic tables for those who want to stay for lunch and observe the many birds that frequent the feeding stations. Great spot for camera buffs.
Meet at Little Lake parking lot at 8 am for directions. Alternatively meet at the entrance to Grants Woods at 8.30 a.m. Maps of the hiking trails will be provided at that time.
Easy walking, bring snacks
